MEGAN COLQUHOUN

Megan Colquhoun is a Social Worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).


Areas of focus:

-Prenatal and perinatal mental health

-Parenting

-Relationship issues

-Anxiety, panic and stress management 

-Trauma

-Grief and loss

-Life change and transition


Megan works with teens and adults. Following the birth of her children she developed a passion for supporting other women through their pregnancy, postpartum and parenting journeys. She believes that therapy is a collaborative and empowering experience through which you can better understand yourself, your situation and enhance your skill set to cope with life’s challenges.


Megan uses humour, warmth and empathy to create a safe space to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and situations that may be causing distress or difficulties. She works with each client to create a specialized care plan, based on your goals, and using evidence based models of treatment so that you can have the most effective therapy.


She has worked in multiple social work settings providing group, family, and individual therapy to children, teens and adults. Megan uses an integrated model for therapy using her training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems.


Megan completed her Masters Degree in Social Work with a clinical specialization in Children and their Families at the University of Toronto. She values learning and prioritizes ongoing training and development as a clinician. She is currently completing her certification to become a Clinical Traumatologist.
